The bigger the chip, the more it costs. The more advanced the process, the more
it costs. The Itanium is huge and uses the latest process, so Intel has no
choice but to make it expensive.

The computer I told you about is a 533MHz Alpha. There are no compatibility
problems to fix--I'm sure it's 100% compatible with other Alphas.

You realize that if you just write your program in C, you don't have to give a
damn about any of this. Spend a few minutes recompiling and you can run on the
most exotic hardware.
