They were "here" for over 10 years.  Chiptest played in the 1986 ACM event.
Deep Thought played in the 1995 ACM event.  DB played in 1996/1997 vs Kasparov.
During the 1986-1995 era, DT won every major event it played in except for one,
Hong Kong in 1995.  (I am not counting 1986 when the machine first hit the
street, as it was not "ready for prime time" and had horrible bugs).

Since then It lost to, and then beat Kasparov.  All pretty good "facts"
supporting the beast...
