Any comments you could make, particularly as a comparison with (say) >Junior 6 (seeing as it just won your fine tournament- thank you for all your >efforts) would be greatly appreciated. Right now I can't tell anything yet about the engine itself because I just started playing with it. It will take time, and pre-alphas are usually very different from the final release. It's a slow process. I know that among other things (all!) Mark wants to address specific problems, like performance at slow time controls, aside from positional improvements and tactical speed ups. >Of course, I fully understand if this is not possible due to some agreement with >Mark himself but in that case, would you mind asking him if he might post some >information on the new version, as I'm sure many would be interested. Mark didn't ask for any sort of restrictions regarding information about Hiarcs 8 and I am sure that he will keep us posted as soon as the engine will start resembling the final release.
