The question is not whether Fischer is interesting or important to chess. Quite frankly there are a huge number of people who practically worship him and an equal number who despise him. Personally, I think he is the second best chess player in the history of the world after Kasparov. But the point is, Bobby Fischer posts are not about computer chess (unless it is a Fischer computer match or he is playing online or something like that). In such a case, you can believe that everyone here would like to hear about it. As to whether you have done more for chess than everyone else here, I could care less. If the entire Deep Blue team and Kasparov themselves posted a Fischer thread here, it would be off topic. Fischer threads almost always degenerate into polarized arguments. He was a great player -- clearly one of the greatest of all time. But he does not even play anymore. His discussions (rantings, really) are not about the game of chess but a bunch of strange, ironic outbursts aimed at particular ethnic groups. It is true that off-topic stuff is tolerated here to some degree. And it is also true that Fischer it somewhat tangentially topical. But his hate-filled interviews belong somewhere else. In other words, I am agreeing with the moderators. 100%.
