i have to disagree. when i test a chess program i try to let it play
against all kind of programs. i have always found out that some programs cannot
win very good against fear-enemies.

therefore i do always tried (in those days without autoplayer)
10 games against 4 or 7 opponents.

in the days of autoplayer, you can of course try 20 games against each opponent.
