I do not have Junior6 but I know these parameters from Junior5.

insufficient material gives Junior knowledge about some draws endgames(for
example it assumes that king and knight with no more material cannot win)
Junior can save time in practical games by not searching positions that it knows
that they are not more than a draw.

This knowledge may be counterproductive in some studies and if you tell it
insufficient material off then it does not use this knowledge and can find the
right move in these studies.

threshold is for analysis
If you are interrested only in moves with score at least 1 pawn for yourself
you can use threshold=100

Junior is not a null mover.

I think that you have fritz's manual and not Junior's manual because selectivity
and aggressiveness are parameters of Fritz.
