I think it may be the same with Fritz 6 and Fritz 6a. Fritz 6a appears to be a bit stronger in general but I have found certain positions in which Fritz 6 does better. I suspect that when changes are made in a program this kind of thing is common. An upgrade may improve a program overall but not in all positions. eric
