Ncb3 Qe5 4. bxc6 bxc6 5. fxe3 Qh5+ 6. Kg1 Qh3 He stopped here but the following could be one continuation: 7. Bxd5 Nxd5 8. Qxc6 Qxg3+ 9. Kh1 Nxe3 10. Qe8+ Kh7 11. Qe4+ f5 12. Nxf5 Bxf5 Is there something better for white? The move he thought was best for white was Bf3, instead of Bg2 or Kh2. Spraggett 78 years later showed that Bf3 at least draws and could win for white if black goes astray.
