I don't have a big problem with OO itself. I just have a problem with
"programmers" who think that OO is the be-all and end-all of programming.

I think that calling the Win32 API functions directly is perfectly reasonable.
It's not like they're "low level" calls written in a bizarre foreign language.
They're functions that are intended for use by other people. They're pretty easy
to use and they're well documented. I don't understand why anybody would want a
wrapper for them.

I don't have much experience with MFC. I just remember a few brief (and failed)
attempts to use it several years ago. I also know that not many people use it.
Recently, I've worked with my girlfriend on some homework assignments where the
TA used MFC, and reading through the code was unbearable.
