Subject: Fritz 6 doesn't like "~" in path name

I've notified Chessbase about the following problem. It occurs when I delete
games in a database and then apply "Tools | Clean up database".

I have all my data files in subdirectories of "C:\~\". I adopted this convention
years ago to simplify backing up my work. Thus, my Chessbase files are in the
directory "C:\~\Chessbase".

However, I found out that, unfortunately, if the path has the tilde character,
then the "Clean up database" function crashes my system. As an experiment I
tried putting the bases under "C:\~Chessbase\" and the system still crashed. I
was able to reproduce the problem on two computers.

The problem is easy to work around: don't have "~" in the path name.
"C:\Chessbase\" works fine. However, path names under all versions of Windows
are theoretically allowed certain non-alphanumeric characters such as "!" and
"~". In this case, Fritz 6 does not conform to this standard.
