Here is one possible suggestion: If you have crafty, start it up in a dos window and type: read <filename> where you replace <filename> with the name of the file that has the pgn input (one game only). Then type savegame <newfilename> which will save the game, sans comments, etc, but keeping the usual PGN headers (oddball headers will be lost, but the standard names, site, date, rating, etc headers ought to be kept... And the SAN output will be kept. If the game doesn't have SAN moves, it will after the above. :) when done reading/savegaming, just type "quit". Bob
