Makes one wonder if she would do the same if playing a match vs an equally strong human? Probably not. If she loses to Junior I hope she doesn't revert to an excuse of being too exhausted. I don't think she would resort to that. > >There is quite big money involved, and many people put a great deal of prestige >on the result, and yet it can't be scheduled when Xie has a week off? > >If anybody is going to play in more than one match/tournament at a time then >surely it should be the computer. > >I blame Mig! >(or maybe it's a conspiracy by Kasparov to destroy Amir & Mig simultaneously) > >Gees, > >Tina Long I agree that it is unfortunate that Xie is playing in both events. I'd prefer that the human stay within their normal playing rythmn for such events. As I mentioned in another post even Gary Kasparov, who is definitely not lacking in determination and stamina, requested rest days in the event of another Deep Blue challenge. It's the way GMs have always handled serious match play. Her current performance in the Sufe Tournament is not so good and although the Junior match has yet to start it may be that the pressure of doing both is a distraction for that event also. Lots of speculating now on my part.
