Subject: Re: How to see endgame win with tablebases in Fritz 6?

Go up one level in this thread

If Fritz has a position on board with a three four five piece contained in the
tablebase, it will show all variants immediately in the engine analysis windows,
with the result (mate in #; or 0.00 draw) if the specified move is played and
the rest of the move sequence will be played consecutively. That happens every
move again until situation zero reached.

If there are more pieces on the board and Fritz comes to an situation analysis
where it uses tablebases, it will give the number of tablebase hits.
Depending on how fast pieces disappear in an analysis variation, it's possible
with over 10-12 pieces on the board.
You have to reduce analysis to one line (use minus key) to see the number of
tb-hits, like tb=234.

Try this example from the (rather meager indeed) leaflet accompanying Endgame
bases CD set form Chessbase:

[D]8/1R6/4nk1B/1p4p1/7r/7P/5PP1/6K1 w - - 0 1

"(...) Fritz sees (...) the draw combination (immediately)"
