... LINUX ! (you used ....) ;)

-----------------------------------------------------

In the Windows family, I really hate Win98, because it doesn't work with my 8MB
Viper 330 video card (Riva 128 ZX), which is an excellent card and runs nicely
with Win95 and Linux. That's S3 and NVidia's fault, of course, not
Microsoft's... but I don't like IE 4 or 5, nor Outlook Express, so I do not
agree to have IE inside my home-made computer.

I have another free-HD to test things, so I installed Win2000 beta 3, and
sometimes I use it. I can't get 56 kbps from my modem (don't know why, maybe
it's the wrong driver...), and some of my most beloved engines do not work with
Win2000 (Chessmaster 5500, Power Chess, and some very old (DOS) stuff); but it
seems to be a better OS than WinNT 4.0 definitely; it crashed only once in two
months - I tryed to run a video in full screen mode (17" with 1024x768
resolution). (Yes, Win2000 supports my video card).

It's really a shame there is not a ChessBase for Linux or ChessAssistant for
Linux, and Hiarcs, ChessTiger or Fritz, Junior, Nimzo or Rebel! :(
