Hello, I am again trying to get a feel for the improvement tablebases add to a program. Unfortunately Fritz will not run without tablebase available. Perhaps they took some endgame knowledge out and depend entirely on the tablebases for performance?? I am running Hiarcs 7.32 vs Chess Tiger 12.0e and Hiarcs is being tested with and then without the tablebases available. I would like to know if anyone else has done similiar test and what were the results? I did this over a year ago with Crafty vs Crafty without tablebases but did not have many tablebases at the time. I now have about 4 Gigabytes of tablebases (Compressed) for the experiment. Jim Walker
