This means that ChessGenius running on an overclocked Palm should be stronger
than the original 14MHz Roma 68020.

I took a look at the spec sheets for both processors on Motorola’s WEB page.
Based on this I would rate the Roma 14MHz 68020 at 4.25 MIPS and your
overclocked Palm at 6.75 MIPS.  So ChessGenius on an overclocked Palm should be
faster, even without the Permanent Brain feature.

By the way, here’s the information from the Motorola Spec Sheets:
MC68020: 10 MIPS @ 33 MHz
MC68EZ328: 2.7 MIPS @ 16.58 MHz
