I took a look at the spec sheets for both processors on Motorola’s WEB page. Based on this I would rate the Roma 14MHz 68020 at 4.25 MIPS and your overclocked Palm at 6.75 MIPS. So ChessGenius on an overclocked Palm should be faster, even without the Permanent Brain feature.
