Since all GM games usually goes into the game bases used for creating opening libraries, it is evident that we now have gotten the new opening theory 1. e4 e5 2. Qh5 Nc6 3. Qf3 as part of our common opening theory (From the Becker - Kasparov game :) ) But as a patzer of 1300-1400 on FICS I would say that Becker played well. After analyzing with crafty my impression is that he had an almost equal position after move 10 and that even after the blunder 11. Be2 he played sensible moves. To anticipate the next blunder 13. Bxe4 you have to see three moves ahead, which at least from my view takes a good chess player to do. I would say the same about 15. Kd1 which on first glance seem to hide the king better than 15. Kf1. Of course 16. Re1 was a disaster, but at my level at least, missing a check and the consequences are not unusual. And here too one has to see three moves to discover the mate. All in all, I would say that Becker played well for an amateur, and that I for one would not claim that I would have lasted longer against Kasparov. Of course I'm looking forward to the opportunity to try, so if anybody has a direct line to Garry - I'M READY !!!!!! Best regards Andreas Stabel
