Hi Bob, I will read your review later, today in the evening. Yes, the programmer from Chess-Assistant works on a better WinBoard compatibility and the results are very good. I have the beta versions and the WinBoard compatibility is from version to version better. I think a SP1 coming soon. I like this program yes and I think that is one of the best chess software which we have :-) The problem in the english version is, that I can play with WB engines without parameter (example: LGoliath, Comet, Nimzo, Crafty), not with programs with parameter (example: AnMon *xboard* or Bringer */winboard*). But the Chess-Assistant team solve these problems. In my review I wrote a little bit about Chess Assistant, more about Chess-Assistant and engines. I am not the database men :-) When the SP1 is available I will wrote a little part 3 for the Phase X review and added the configurations files with examples in my webpage. A very good review about Chess Assistant stand in the german chess magazine "Rochade Europa". The article in ordinary good deminsion from Peter Schreiner. Now I must read your review today in the evening :-) In Phase X (project from Berthold Seifriz and myself) I wrote about Chess GUIs with WinBoard support. Regards Frank
