Another EPD input parsing bug in Chest has just been fixed. An updated "input.c" is available from the Chest home page at http://www.drb.insel.de/~heiner/Chess/chest.html When the bug occured Chest flagged a correct EPD line with a cryptic error message (mostly: Duplicate piece).
