The PII has 512k L2 cache, running at "half speed". (Meaning that if you have a
500MHz PII, the L2 cache runs at 250MHz.)

The Celeron is exactly like the PII, except it has 128k L2 cache running at full
speed.

The non-Coppermine PIII is exactly like the PII, except it has Intel's "SSE"
instructions. This doesn't really matter, because SSE-optimized programs are few
and far between. (Definitely not chess programs, too.)

The Coppermine PIII is also exactly like the PII, except it has SSE _and_ 256k
of full speed L2 cache.

So, only two definite conclusions can be drawn from this:

* The non-Coppermine PIII is not faster than the PII (well, almost never)
* The Coppermine PIII is faster than the Celeron

Other than that, it depends on what programs you're running and how well they're
suited to particular cache setups.
