She could have a reasonable concern, for example, that clock issues would not be handled satisfactorily without an automatic interface. Furthermore, I don't think we're clear about the playing conditions at her end. Was she playing on the computer? Or did she have a board and pieces as well? If she was just using the computer, playing by phone would require her to relinquish the mouse between turns; not a big thing of course, but surely distracting. I would hate to think that the "pool" of world-class players who are willing to participate in this sort of event is diminishing because of incidents like this. Andrew PS I'm not unsympathetic to Amir and Shay here. This can't be much fun for them :-(
