What I had in mind is that computer science is taught at many universities. Here in Germany the university of Paterborn comes to mind and E. A. Heinz from the university of Karlsruhe is widely known. Many scientists have worked in this area. In this thread was a link to an ICCA article where this work was discribed. Still we do not have the complete set of 6-men tablebases. Stiller did some investigations in his thesis, but now we don't need a connection machine, the work could be done by a usual computer. But now we would like to store the data and make it available to the public. So I think it should be possible to do this work in another thesis. Of course, if someone with a lot of money is willing to help, I think he's welcome. Kind regards Bernhard
