This is exactly my point, the engine receives a "new" then all the moves are
replayed and then the new move is given but, in the meantime, we have lost all
the effect of ponder. The pv is most probably lost and hash tables too (even if
this last point certainly depends on the program).

It seems to me that this protocols really weakens the winboard engine (of course
I have no clue if its true for the native .eng files provided on chessbase site
like crafty and comet, I am only talking about thoses that we must run with the
winboard adapter), especially those -like crafty- that are particularly tuned to
give their best when pondering is on.

Am I missing something here ?
