I am unable to create a .amyrc file, Win98 also wants a filename, not just a file extention. So I tried amy.rc instead, but I don't think Amy can see it because when I change the hashtable size, I see no difference in what Amy reports when in text mode. It's not much of a concern with the hashtable sizes because I could do the in the command line I guess, but I wanted to specify the tablebase path. So, what should I call the file? Also, Amy doesn't want to analyse from Winboard. But it does a great job of analysing in it's text mode. To do that you need to use the command "epd" followed by a space, then paste the epd in (if it's coied to th clipboard, see the clipboard at the top of the dos box), hit enter, then enter the command "analyze". Like with Crafty, stop the analyze by using the command "exit". The results will be in Amy's log file. I think Amy probably does a good job of analysis, here's an example of it's work, epd position from Comet's file: Amy version Winboard Version 0.6, Copyright (C) 2000 Thorsten Greiner Amy comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details type 'warranty' This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions; type 'distribution' No multiprocessor support. $Id: score.c,v 1.44 2000/03/21 15:18:58 thorsten Exp $ $Id: search.c,v 1.57 2000/03/22 10:19:02 thorsten Exp $ Hashtable sizes: 2048 k, 1024 k, 256 k White(1): White(1): +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 8 |*R*| |*B*|*Q*|*R*| |*K*| | +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 7 |*P*|*P*| |*N*| |*P*|*P*|*P*| Hashkey: 18e24fd0 +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 6 | | | | | |*B*| | | +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 5 | | | | | N | | B | | Black (34000, 28000) PNBRQ +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 4 | | | |*P*| | | | P | White (34000, 28000) PNBRQ +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 3 | | | | | | | | | +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 2 | P | P | P | Q | | P | P | | Index: 63 +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 1 | | | K | | R | B | | R | MateThreat: 0 0 +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ a b c d e f g h White(1): TC: 60 moves in 300 secs TL: 4/16 GamePhase: Opening It Time Score principal Variation 1 0.0 -0.096 1.
