Subject: (Off topic, humourous) Announcement from KC.

If you're very easily offended don't read it.

--------------------
Announcement!
Sadly KC have to inform that the postal game with high velocity pigeons between
Kasparov (Baku) and Yermolinsky (New York) has been cancelled. There are several
reasons for this unfortunate, but necessary, decision:
1) Funding: The advertising space on a pigeon is too small and therefore
commercially unattractive.
2) Kasparov insisted that the moves were encrypted to avoid foul play.
3) The number of pigeons in New York and the start of the mating season also
threatened to delay the game.
There is then no other option than to postpone the game for now. Kasparov
assures KC that the game will take place before he defends his World Chess
Championship title against Anand. Let us just hope that Kasparov's cook knows
how to prepare a bird.

A few days ago KC was able to make an alternative contract, which insures
another exiting game to watch live on the KC website. The event is called Chess
Inspires Peace (aka. CHIP). The players contracted are Anand and Shirov. Anand
is playing from Kashmir (India) and Shirov from a hacienda in Spain (it should
have been the headquarter of ETA, but noone knows where it is). The gameformat
will be the same even though Anand suggested using a blindfold. A threat from
Greenpeace however, made this option impossible due to the possibility of
cruelty towards animals. Hopefully the game will start sometime next week to
coincide with Clinton's visit to Pakistan and end shortly after christmas. This
and other live events coming from KC.

Inspired by ICCF and KC.

Best wishes...
Mogens
