I followed part of this game when it was in progress. Junior generally agreed
with Rebel in seeing an advantage for black until the endgame, while Fritz saw
advantage for white. It may be dumb luck, but perhaps Fritz knew better because
the exchange sac is more solid than it looks. In any case, Rebel played
passively and probably could do better.

Junior had book prepared to play against GM Ram Soffer, but we were tricked and
Gur Mittelman showed up instead !

Gur is still the only one to have beaten Junior in the league (in 1997, when he
played for Beersheva). I don't have the game score with me, but it was an
uneventful one. The IM opened the Catalan as white, played solidly and
accurately and offered an early draw around move 23. This was turned down, but
around move 35 in a level RNN+5P endgame Junior offered a draw which was
accepted.
