Subject: Compiling Crafty

Hi All,

I have compiled crafty on my machine and noticed that the binary I downloaded
from Dr. Hyatt's site is much faster (about 60-75%). What am I doing wrong?

Note: I am using makefile.nt that comes with the crafty distribution, which
automatically defines NT_i386, VC_INLINE_ASM etc so that the assembly routines
are being used.

a) My compiler gives a message about ignoring unknown switch /Ob2.
b) I am using Visual C++ 6.0 Learning edition. could that be generating much
slower code than say standard or professional editions ?
c) are there other #defines that I need to use?

Thank you in advance

Sanjiv.
