And to tell you the truth, it's possible that someone may figure out a way to
force such machines to be benevolent. The problem is, however, not just one of
benevolence vs. non-benevolence. It's also one of social change. What happens
when the benevolent super computers do all of our research and work for us. Do
we all just go out skiing? It's not worth it to play chess anymore (cannot tell
if your opponent is using a super computer, even face to face). Could you
imagine 5.5 billion people all out on the slopes at the same time?
