Hello Christophe,

sympathetic posting !

It´s interesting to see the strong amateur programs in matches against comercial
programs.

I tested a long time the new Chess Assistant 5.0 GUI. Here I play matches:

Shredder 4.0 - AnMon 5.06 13,5 : 6,5 !
Chess Tiger 12e - AnMon 5.06 13,0 : 7,0 !
WChess 1.2a - AnMon 5.06 9,5 :10,5 !!

= 2440 ELO !

40 moves in 20 minutes, ponder = off, AMD K6-3 450 MHz.

Now AnMon is not the strongest free program and it is interesting that AnMon won
more games under 30 moves then all professionel programs which I try under
Chess-Assistant or Chess-Base GUIs (OK not against Hiarcs). AnMon can not win a
match against Tiger, Fritz, Shredder or the others but this is not important for
me.

I will say that a lot of amateur programs play an fantastic chess and better
chess than 99,9% from all chess player in the world. On the other hand, I will
not missing the strong professionel programs on my harddisk with the famus GUIs
and options. I like all programs which know the 32 figure :-))

Regards
Frank

PS:
Your program is great, Chess Tiger won a lot of games in the phase end of
middelgame begin of endgame and with complicated positionel combinations ! But I
have played not enough games with Chess Tiger to say more !
