This is some information that I generated a while back with Crafty 17.6. These are the totals for the Crafty Bench command. Decreasing from 48M to 48K only increases execution time modestly. There was an anomaly when the hash and hashp sizes were badly mismatched. Effect of Hash Table Sizes (flags = /Ob1gisy /G6Fr): Hash Hashp Total Nodes* Time NPS 96M 8M 66707660 472s 141.3K 48M 8M 66640414 471s 141.5K 24M 8M 68453056 480s 142.6K 12M 8M 70362144 496s 141.9K 6M 8M 82535653 578s 142.8K 3M 8M 81501859 574s 142.0K 48K 8M 155261744 1027s 151.8K 48K 16K 81501850 604s 134.9K 48M 16M 66640414 470s 141.8K 48M 8M 66640414 471s 141.5K 48M 4M 66640414 472s 141.2K 48M 1M 66640414 483s 138.0K 48M 16K 66640414 490s 136.0K *Total nodes were recalculated because of a MS VC++ bug in this module of Crafty.
