Hi Tina:
I am one of those authors so I can tell you the history.
First, CCC birth made of CCR something obsolete. Why writting there a review if
you can -perhaps with somewhat less literary effort- write the same here?
Second, not enough people was prepared to write there, for free. Not KK neither
me or Larry Kaufman could write absolutely everything.
Third, the sheer idea of "reviews" have lost his appeal as much you can get
information on a daily for every piece of software. Reviews were fine when
internet was not what it is now, so the vehicle of news delivery was limited to
paper magazines that, of course, appeared from time to time to collect material.
All that has not sense anymore, even in electronic format. Just think on this:
what sense could do if I write a "review" of Tiger after all this time, when
everybody here has read about this program? If I can do a review of a new
program that only I have -as is the case with some program than only I have, he
he- well, that's another thing, but eventually softwares houses are not very
interested in putting the luick of his products in the hands of an independent
reviewer; they prefer to get easy hoopla from paid people in commercial
magazines, you know what I mean...
Kisses from Chile
Fernando
