Are you saying this from the standpoint of a user who doesn't like bells and whistles (e.g. your use of the term "frivolity"), or do you actually believe that the engine plays more poorly in 6000 compared to 5500 and in 7000 compared to 6000. If it is the latter that you believe, I think you may be hard-pressed to prove it. From what I've heard from players (and I've heard from many), I would say that, at the very least, 90% of users (including "hard-core" types like those found here), preferred 6000 over 5500. It's about 50-50 when comparing 7000 to 6000 (mostly regarding interface issues, since the engines are the same). Of course, your opinion is yours and you are entitled to it. I would just like to know what led you to your conclusion. jm
