Just a thought, Any intellengent >comments welcome./ Respecfully/William Hi Will: "Technicians" suppose that a tecknos exist, that is, a relatively complete and internally coordinated stock of procedures to do something and that any one can learn. Chess, I believe, is not a full teknos in that sense, but at most a collection of parcial procedures -you mentioned some of them- and know-how accumulated trought the years. In that sense chess is more akin to a artisan practique and the best performers are talented artisans of the craft. Cheers Fernando
