I think Fritz was always a better blitz player, and tactically faster, than Junior in general - therefore your chances should be better with short time controls. On the other hand, if you're playing at 40/2h, you could possibly increase Fritz' chances by upgrading the memory size, for larger hash tables. Another method which could give the best results is: Try to find out which *opening book* Junior uses (most likely the standard book with which it was sold), and furthermore try to find as much games as possible at which Junior has used that book (or, if in doubt, at least which were played by version 6). You may find opening variations which were mishandled by Junior, thus loosing. Create a book tree for Fritz which has those moves, and favours those openings (for the other color of course) - Junior on your friend's machine could repeat the blunders. But this sounds like a lot of work, and success is not guaranteed... Regards, M.Scheidl
