There's more than one kind of AMD 450MHz processor, (K6-2, K6-2+ / K6-3, maybe
Athlon too?).  Which one did you mean?  (And which Intel processor are you
upgrading from?)

Having said that, I don't recall any particular chess-related problems with any
of those CPUs.  Someone else might know better, though.

Some programs tend to relatively favour AMD or Intel, performance-wise.  If you
use only a particular chess engine (instead of many :-) then you might want to
bring that up.
