Hi:  I am teaching myself to program in Basic (I have always suspected that 'C'
is short for 'cuneiform').  Therefore I consider it good that you program in
Basic.   Perhaps the general principles that you mention should be explained in
generic (non-program-language) format first, and then examples in the major
program languages could follow.
