I'm not a moderator and haven't been for two months.  Unless things have
changed, the moderators have the ability to delete individual posts.  Sometimes
all they have to do is delete one post, and other times they might decide to
remove a whole thread.  They can delete posts from the middle of a thread, and
CCC figures out what is going on and handles it right, it's not like it breaks
anything.

I wouldn't think there'd be any problem with having an "innocent" post in a
thread deleted.
