Basically.  Sometimes the pawn is allowed to queen, but not with check, and it's
mate in one for the KNN side.  However, if the pawn is too far forward to begin
with, the side with the knights won't be able to mate because the queen would
arrive too quickly after the blockading knight left to assist in the checkmate.
