AFAIK there were two threads that were deleted.  In both, the moderator who
deleted the threads felt that the other posts in the thread didn't have a
purpose out of context of the targeted deleted posts, so they removed the others
as well.  All of those people were sent email saying that their post was deleted
for this reason, and that they shouldn't think we were displeased with their
post.

The moderator "interface" for deleting posts hasn't changed (significantly, at
any rate) since you were doing it.
