Between 5 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. this morning (Wed., the 8th) our server was unable to send and receive e-mail. Consequently, those of you who had the misfortune to sign up for the Computer Chess Club during that period of time did not receive your password until just before 11 this morning. Normally, the process takes just seconds. We apologize. E-mail is back to normal now, and fortunately, the CCC, itself, was running fine all along. We believe that the problem was resultant from the huge numbers of people attempting to get passwords since yesterday when the announcement opening the Computer Chess Club to the public was made.
