I didn't find a way to compile it with djgpp, and it's own makefile was a bit heavy duty for me to work with. Maybe someone else can make it work. A quick look at one of the files indicates that you'd make the pieces move the same very long-hand way as the small Chess program that Eugene posted a while back (not on the easy side, but posible).
