Was a choice made?  How does one normally qualify to play in the Dutch
championship?  Did Fritz have to go through this process?  Did Rebel go through
this process?

Is Fritz ineligible to win prize money?

Definitely.  Chinook won the right to play Marion Tinsley by finishing second to
him in a U.S. championship (that Tinsley finished first in).
