Yes, but Ligterink is giving his one colour to it. By writing "3 times champion"
he suggests that vd Sterren is the potential winner. He could also have written
" the person that finished 8th last year and 10th the year before (out of 12 ) "
The part of the sentence "but not in the national championship" was not in the
other interview ( of 1980), neither was "on principle". Part of this interview
was handed out at the pressconference. Ligterink choose not to use it in his
article.

That's correct. ( I've just heard that today ). But there not saying they will
take the loss without play.

Yes, and that would make a bad impression. But I think it's getting a little bit
blown out of proportion. I mean, we are talking about the last year nr 7,8 and a
not qualifier. How much more points would they get if they played ?
It IS a shame if they refuse to play, but does it make that much difference ?

Smart move by Jeroen.
I guess that raises the big question. Is the problem the participation of Fritz,
or the possible winning by Fritz ?
