I recently upgraded to the latest Winboard, and matched gnu5 vs crafty17.10 (time limit 5 min per side). Crafty (white) mated gnu5 (black) in 33 moves. I reset the board and let them play again. To my surprise, I saw the exact same game. I did it again and again -- about 20 games -- and each one was exactly the same. Is this normal? (By the way, Gnu5 opted for the Petroff, and both engines left book after 19 moves.)
