I am not sure if the results are statistically different. Fritz6 without autoplayer won Rebel Century and shredder4 in the Israeli league. I understand from reading Enrique's post that 204 that is probably shredder4 did not do a bad result and is probably 3th place when first is Fritz6a and second is Junior6(Junior6a in part of the games). > >>The ssdf can send their results with shredder and other programs to somebody >>else and (s)he who did not buy the programs can post the results without telling >>who told him(her) the results. >>In this case you cannot prove that the ssdf is responsible for the results >>because it can be somebody else with similiar hardware. > >i don't think this is legal. try it out. and you will see. > >>You can do nothing against it so I think that it is absurd to try to take legal >>steps against the SSDF. > >we will see. > >>I think that people should avoid buying your program if you take legal steps >>against the ssdf. > >why ? >i would say the opposite ! buy the program BECAUSE they take legal actions. >for that there is truth about the autoplayer. > >:-)) I do not say that there is no problem with the autoplayer of chessbase that help chessbase programs but even if there is a problem with the chessbase autoplayer I do not like legal actions against the ssdf. The ssdf guys publish part of their games so the right step is to prove that there is a problem with the games that is bigger than a general problem with autoplayers. The fact that there is a general problem with autoplayer not because of chessbase is known and Ed found cases when the autoplayer changes things(it does not happen often but it happens). Uri
