Hello all, I am managing a chess group in Canada and I need to know how the Elo or equivalent rating system works in order to generate accurate ratings for upcoming tournaments. Our club has no money to speak of, but I am an organizer willing to learn the math if it will generate an accurate ELO of our players . Can anyone out there help me out with the exact formulas and explain how they work in detail? I have a math background so I can turn the crank once I get the hang of it.I have been to the Canadian Chess Federation site but their explanation of their version is lacking...
