I have to stay famous for my stupid answers, that's the reason for this response. I have a Matrox G200 with a lot of parameters like "enable Z-buffering" "polygon acceleration" "allow bus mastering" and so on, heck do I know what it means. But in the grey past (that is, a few weeks ago) with my former stone aged drivers I had to disable some of these options to let things run smoothly like ChessBase 7, Java applets and so on. The last drivers of Matrox do not have those problem and everything runs smooth. Did you check those kind of settings (if the card has them), as you installed a new video card together with new drivers? Are you sure you have the newest ones, checked that on the web? You'd be surprised how often I forgot those simple settings, letting them ruin my PC performance. Nowadays I sometimes use a stick-it note with writings like: "warning! changend BIOS setting from BIOS shadowing enabled to disabled!" Or "take care, as I also allowed NetBUI protocol for my internet connection" With problems I know what I screwed up. My motto with PC's: If it's gone wrong, I've done wrong. Good luck anyhow. Jeroen ;-}
