I have been out of touch with Technology advances since I retired as VP
Engineering in the field of Analog/Digital instrumentation that also involved
primative fiber optics transmission line communications between their peripheral
devices. Thanks for the very interesting link. But as was mentioned having the
claimed optical conversion break through is only half the problem. Technology is
no where close to being able to incorporate the process into our Boxes at  those
rates or any of the other useful applications briefly mentioned.
