Who said that one should prefer the Fritz engine? After all this 7 plus the 3 free to download are quite a bunc. Fritz comes with a series of old engines as well, but they are all Fritz incarnations, not necessarely playing with very different style. Second consider that other people having Fritz 6, will not necessarely like to have to spend time setting up the files to interface with the winboard: after all using a self installing program is usually simpler. regards Franz p.s.
