Maybe, maybe not, it really depends on the program but I would not be surprised that, when an engines receives a 'new' command (which is what happens with chessbase wb adapter) it simply re-initializes all hash tables and pv (starting a new game), then the effect of pondering or previous moves searches is null(*). But you are right that, with only one machine, there is no much you can do about it. Regards Ujecrh (*) I am far from being an expert but I suspect that the only exception is probably learning files that could have gained some knowledge from previous searches.
